Management of Shallow Migration Corridors in the Nemunas Delta
The project will take place in Nemunas delta regional park, Kniaupas ? Purvalankis ? Kroku Lanka shallow water and/or regularly flooded floodplains in Silute district (Western Lithuania). This project corresponds to GEF SGP priorities in protection of freshwater ecosystem diversities and sustainable use of its resources.
The project will aim to solve the problems of loss of valuable spawning and valuable habitats for waders due to their overgrowth with reed and cattail. Also the project aims to solve the problem of poaching and illegal fishing in the Curonian Lagoon and Nemunas delta by local community efforts.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Consulting of local people, who wish to provide angling tourism services, hence, improving their living conditions and decreasing poverty.
Project also will aim to attract society?s attention to problem of poaching by involving local community into the search for solutions and pilot testing of grass-root approaches in that respect.
Capacity - Building Component
Number of informative semminars is planed by project activity plan.
An exchange experience in re-naturalization and sustainable management of the coastal floodplains with the Baltic Office of WWF?Germany is planed.
