Together we rehabilitate the springs in Vorniceni village, Straseni district
The village of Vorniceni has the great privilege of having as natural resources those springs with drinking water that provide one third of the locality's households with quality water.
According to the tests carried out in the laboratory, the respective water corresponds to the requirements of Law no. 182 of 19.12.2019 regarding the quality of drinking water (investigated indicators: smell, taste, color - acceptable for consumption; nitrites - 0.003 mg/l; nitrates - 3.90 mg/l ), thus giving the inhabitants of the village of Vorniceni access to safe water sources for their health and hygiene.
By carrying out the proposed works, we will ensure an efficient management of the water resources available in this area, at the same time ensuring the system with a necessary protection zone.
By means of the proposed project, namely by building 2 catchment wells and repairing 2 others, an additional amount of drinking water will be collected that will fully ensure the needs of the inhabitants of the village of Vorniceni, who face difficulties, especially during the summer concerns non-stop water supply.
The project aims, in addition to the rehabilitation works of the springs themselves, to contribute to informing and educating the inhabitants in order to increase the degree of social responsibility towards the environment and the rational use of resources (Focus-group information sessions).
Currently, in the village of Vorniceni, there are about 750 households connected to the aqueduct system with the "Duruitoarea" source.
7 economic agents and 5 public institutions from the locality are also connected to this source, which have the opportunity to carry out their economic/social activity more efficiently due to the fact that they have access to the centralized system.
Due to the fact that the water flow will increase significantly, there will also be an opportunity to connect other water consumers, and the aqueduct will be expanded. According to the action plan from the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the village of Vorniceni for the years 2021-2025, the Vorniceni town hall intends to expand the aqueduct networks for about 450 households and 4 economic agents in the Dumeni and Fund?tura regions.
The project concept aligns with the provisions of the Country Strategy of the GEF SGP OP7 Program for the period 2020-2024, namely with the Priority "Conservation of ecosystems and threatened species at the community level" intervention area "Improving and expanding the management of protected areas in cooperation with national authorities, local and private sector". The implementation of the rehabilitation activity of the springs in the village of Vorniceni will contribute to the expansion and preservation of the natural ecosystem, representing the sources of drinking water from the natural springs on the territory of the locality.
