This report provides information on evapotranspiration, biological climate, and environmental monitoring in the Wampís Nation's indigenous territory within Peru's Amazon Rainforest. Based on existing reports by scientists on the "flying rivers" phenomenon, the Wampís Nation's knowledge, skills, and social uses were expanded by adapting the phenomenon to their local context. The resulting report highlighted that the forests protected by Wampís Nation create 'flying rivers' through evapotranspiration, and the atmospheric moisture from them is transported by prevailing winds, thus, affecting water availability across landscapes and continents.
